Notebook M2 p.118 ‘Verona March 11th 1851’ [Heading] ‘The great brackets I examined the tomb above the gate at St Anastasia to-day March 11th The state of art is most singular’ The heading of this page ‘1851’ must be a mistake - added later. The entry was made on Ruskin’s return from Venice in 1850. The reference to ‘Vol 9’ may indicate a different title for M2. With regard to ‘Notebook M p.19’ there is no reference to St Anastasia in M but at Notebook M2 p.197L Index, St Anastasia is listed as p 122.
