The reference in Lindsay (1847) Vol. 1 p. 52 is to the images in the Roman catacombs of ‘child like genii that sport among vine leaves’. The number at the bottom of the page is not altogether clear, but both p.50 and p.53 deal with issues of typology relating New Testament and Old Testament in early images.
