The word ‘intercepted’ is used in this context in the passage at Works, 10.17, but that seems an unlikely reading of the manuscript here. A possible reading of the manuscript is ‘intersected’, and that seems to make sense and to have precedents in Ruskin’s writing in similar contexts.
