Ruskin is here using a numbering system starting from what he called the 18th Capital in his final numbering system for the Ducal Palace. Series of Capitals of the Lower Arcade. The fourteenth capital by this system is therefore by Ruskin’s final system the 32nd Capital of the Ducal Palace Lower Arcade. Compare the diagram at Palace Book p.13L.
