Described as a ‘female figure’ at Works, 10.390. It is possible that this reads ‘paci m’ followed by a mark of doubt, to be read as paciencia manet mecu. Compare Palace Book p.8, patiencia manet mecu, and the puBlished version where it is ‘classicalised’ to become ‘PATIENTIA MANET MECUM’. The ‘monk’ described here becomes a woman when he refers to it in the published account of the 7th capital at Works, 10.390.
