This diagram is the clearest statement by Ruskin of the basis of his system of numbering, of the capitals of the Lower Arcade of the Ducal Palace, and of their faces. Reference to ‘18’ ‘A’ is to the corner capital between the Molo and the Piazzetta. The right hand side is the Molo side, the bottom row faces the Piazzetta.
