The significance of ‘A’ here is that Ruskin has again shifted his numbering system. The reference here is to the 18th Capital in Ruskin’s final numbering system for the Ducal Palace. Series of Capitals of the Lower Arcade, the Corner Capital Molo to Piazzetta, here as at Palace Book p.13L, called ‘A’.
