Ruskin is here using a numbering system starting from what he called the 18th Capital in his final numbering system for the Ducal Palace. Series of Capitals of the Lower Arcade. The fifteenth capital by this system is therefore by Ruskin’s final system the 33rd Capital of the Ducal Palace Lower Arcade. However, it seems possible that Ruskin conflates this in his descriptions of the 12th Capital of the Ducal Palace Lower Arcade as he attempts to use the later capital to understand the earlier.
