Bearing in mind the reference to ‘Venetian book Park St’ (Ruskin and Effie’s rented house) this entry - listing things to take to Venice, was probably made around the last day September / first two days of October, 1849. This was following Ruskin and Effie’s return from Scotland (29th September) and whilst they were briefly staying with his parents at Denmark Hill prior to their journey to Venice which commenced on October 3rd (1849).
