Notebook M p.9, Notebook M p.32, Notebook M p.123 and Gothic Book p.48 are occasions on which Ruskin uses the word ‘sheet’ for what he called ‘Papers’ at Notebook M p.37, Notebook M p.102, Notebook M p.161, Notebook M p.175, Notebook M2 p.44, Notebook M2 p.87.
Here it seems likely that ‘as’ is a transcription error for ‘no’, Ruskin’s usual abbreviation for ‘number’, though here it is unusual in the manuscript in not having a capital ‘N’.
