The reference seems to be to the plan at Palace Book p.13L, in which A is the corner capital, the 18th capital in the final system for the Ducal Palace Series of Capitals of Lower Arcade. B is next to the corner capital on the Piazzetta side, the 19th capital in the final system. C is next to that, the 20th capital in the final system; ‘(20th)’ is an insertion to clarify the meaning of ‘C’.
