The Ruskin Library Transcript T7A reads ‘56 1 to 5’. St M[arks] Book p.56L makes the emendation certain. What T7A gives as the number 1 is a lower case L to refer to Notebook M2 p.56L. What T7A gives as the word ‘to’ is the number ‘10’. The measurement at St M[arks] Book p.56L is clearly to be read as ten feet five inches, and that is the way that ‘10.5’ here is to be read.
