Full vellum, brass clasp, 9 1/8 x 7 1/4 ( 23.1 x 18.5 cm.). Contains 224 pages on pale blue unlined paper, Marked ‘M’ on spine with inserts - 2 pages plate 1, 26.5 x 27.5 folded in 4, 26.5 x 21.5. [A4, 3a]. Printed label of W. Grigg, engraver, printer and stationer, 183 Regent Street, on front pastedown (Hewison (1978) p.58). The notebook is occasionally referred to as ‘M1’ by Ruskin. Sold at Sothebys 24th July 1930 Lot 111 No 9 (see Woolford (1972) pp.193-246).
