See Works, 11.89 for Can Mastino della Scala. He died in 1351. His tomb, one of the Scala Monuments, ‘already shows traces of erring ambition’; in his ‘reign began the decline of his family’. See Fig. 16 of Plate 9 Facing Works, 9.318.
‘Martino’ in the Ruskin Library Transcript T7A at Notebook M p.25 is a transcription error for Mastino.
