Ruskin’s writing was read in the Ruskin Library Transcript T7A as ‘Goldano’. ‘Goldau’ seems a possible, but by no means certain, reading of the manuscript. Turner’s ‘Goldau’ was painted for Ruskin in 1843 and engraved for Modern Painters. See Works, 3.552 [n/a] and engraving at Works, 6.379 [n/a].
