This is an attempt to transcribe and understand the inscription discussed at Notebook M p.181, perhaps ES DOMU SOLIS TU QUOQ SIGNE LEONI. Ruskin on Notebook M p.181 reads TU ES at the beginning, and sees the final letter in ‘quoo’ as a ‘d’ rather than a ‘q’. The ‘q’ would make the word a contracted form of ‘quoque’, ‘also’. Presumably meaning something like ‘You, the house of the sun, are also the sign of the Leo’.
