The entry for Sunday, 7th October, 1849 is the second of the tour. The entry for Saturday 6th October 1849 at Notebook M2 p.1back is the first of the tour, though the first entry in the notebooks on this tour for which a date is clearly established is the image of Vitteaux at Notebook N p.9L, mentioned at Notebook M2 p.1back as having been made ‘today’. The dating at Notebook M2 p.1, where the year is given as 1851, is clearly a mistake.
