‘them these’ is the reading of the Ruskin Library Transcript T7B. The manuscript has one word only at this position. ‘them’ is unconvincing as a representation of what is written. ‘then’ is perhaps the easiest reading of the handwriting. ‘these’ seems possible and makes better sense. One explanation for the transcript is that there was a change of mind by the transcriber. ‘them’ was the first interpretation, ‘these’ was substituted for it, and both were left.
