The symbols in the manuscript have been read as ‘cost per’ in the Ruskin Library Transcript T7B. They look like “c. p.” with something like ‘5’ and ‘1’ added over the first and second stops respectively. In the margin someone has written in pencil “cost. per.”, with something like ‘4’ and ‘2’ over the first and second stops respectively. It would make better sense to read “c. p.” to abbreviate “ceteris paribus”.
