Romanism P 154L

This reference has the appearance of a later addition. The ‘P’ cannot be a reference to Palace Book as it is elsewhere in this index: there is no page 154L there and no discussion of Romanism. The reference seems to be to Notebook M2 p.154L, and the ‘P’ seems to mean ‘Page’. The context at Notebook M2 p.154L is ‘Romanism’ in relation to the debate about the nature of baptism, and specifically in this note to the imagery of the Cross. On the preceding page Ruskin had used the term ‘Romanism’ in the context of the architectural style of the porch of Avignon Cathedral.
