ribbed

The Ruskin Library Transcript T7B reads ‘robed’. ‘ribbed’ seems a possible reading of the manuscript; there seems a clear double ‘b’ in the middle of the word. If ‘ribbed’ is the correct reading then presumably it would apply to the architecture of the tomb. The Ruskin Library Transcript T7B appears to be based on the notion that the evangelists are clothed, but if as seems probable this is the Cavalli tomb that is implausible since the evangelists are represented there by their emblems.
