Ruskin does not quote Psalm 9 in his chapter on Torcello. There are, however, implicit similarities of theme at Works, 10.19ff.
Psalm 9.6 in the King James versions reads:
O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.
Psalm 9.9 reads:
The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
