The Ruskin Library Transcript T7B reads ‘beam’. The word has been changed by Ruskin in the manuscript. It looks as if he started writing ‘bases’ but then changed his mind part way through, changed the ‘b’ to a ‘p’, added an ‘l’, and finished with ‘plan’.
