This comment does not seem to be a later addition by Ruskin. The reference to Notebook N 43 L on Monza therefore implies a date for this page after Notebook N p.43L was written, and after Ruskin’s visit to Monza. The use of the form ‘43 L’ is the first of its kind in this part of M2, though normal in later entries in M and M2.
