The page numbered by Ruskin 220/218 can also be seen as Notebook M2 p.12backL. The passage to be read in that way seems to be intended to be inserted at the caret mark at the fifth line of the manuscript at Notebook M2 p.12back. On the same page, but the other way up, there is a continuation of a note from Zanotto which began on the page numbered by Ruskin 217.
