‘initialled’ is the reading of The Ruskin Library Transcript T7B. The word is a later insertion by Ruskin. ‘initialled’ is implausible. ‘imitated’ is a possible reading of the manuscript and seems better sense; they are said to be close imitations of early Corinthian forms.
