The note at Notebook M2 p.170L seems to have been written after Ruskin left Bourges and in a darker ink; the note at Notebook M2 p.171L seems to have been written ‘here at Bourges’. The two pages provide useful evidence of the way in which left hand pages were used for later reflection on notes taken at the time.
