grey veiny

‘great veining’ is the reading of The Ruskin Library Transcript T7B. ‘grey’ seems a certain change. ‘Veining’ is used by Ruskin as a noun, but there are no precedents for its use as an adjective. ‘veiny’ is not a word Ruskin uses in the published works, but it is common in mineralogical contexts, and it does seem to represent the manuscript here.
