‘prisoner and’ is the reading of the Ruskin Library Transcript T7B. ‘fircones used’ seems appropriate to the sense of the passage and to the manuscript, but not a certain reading. The reference is to the Capella Zen in St Marks, the bronzes by Tullio and Pietro Lombardo.
