On the Certosa at Pavia see Notebook M2 p.2back, Works, 8.50, where it is compared with the Colleone Chapel of the Duomo at Bergamo - Ruskin can ‘think of nothing more painful and pitiful’ - and Works, 9.263 where its ‘rampant barbarism’ is compared with the cathedral at Como. The facade of the Certosa at Pavia dates from 1473 and includes work by Giovanni Antonio Amadeo, who was responsible for the Colleoni Chapel in Bergamo (see McClintock). For a photograph see here.
