Notebook M p.137 ‘Fig 1 is shaft head of third story of a house in the Ramo dell Chiesa - just behind S. M. Mater Domini. This house, with others, may be named as an example of very early pure 5th, in third story [. . .] All other figures on this p 33 G Book are of the beautiful door of the house at the Miracoli [. . .] The archivolt section is most carefully given a fig 4 and its profile fig 6 I never saw such sharp small dogteeth, three to each gabled dentil and the gabled dentils so flat and outer one so high: All cut with the greatest precision, the larger dentil in red Verona marble. The finial looks as if intended for a bracket’
