Doge Marco Cornaro died in 1368. Situated on the north side of the Presbytery. Described at Notebook M2 p.43 ‘The front and section of the archivolt are at p. 22 L Gothic book, only note delicate flowing leaf crockets small set on the backs of the curves’. At Notebook M2 p.17 see Ruskin’s notes from Zanotto listing Cornaro; also Notebook M2 p.38 ‘Leonine heads below brackets’. Indexed by Ruskin; Notebook M2 p.197L ‘Marco - Cornaro [. . .] Goth 22, 23’. Works, 9.326fn, Works, 11.13; Works, 11.295.
Note (3) at Works, 9.326 suggests that Ruskin confused the tombs of Pietro Cornaro with Marco Cornaro. However, the evidence is that Ruskin did not confuse the two tombs.
