Notebook M p.189 ‘at page 63 l [Gothic Book p.63L] a - b and a2 b2 real size, is the vertical section and c d the horizontal section of the balustrade [on p. 63] through its cusps c c2 d d2 being the cusp projection I found it impossible in the drawing to show the grace & suddenness of the depression of the main leaf lobe to its point The section along its central depression from x to y on p 63 would be as opposite fig 1’
