This gateway is high: and admits into a small court: it is part of a noble old house. of which only the pair of small windows are left; fig 2 p 47 l. I think the prettiest of their kind in Venice. their stilt is much clearer and truer than I have drawn it and their archivolt moulding should be a little broader: shaft and all , they are not above 6 feet high if so much, but nice and deep’
