The pyramid of white marble is flat on the three (or four) sides turned inwards, and flouted on the 5 or four sides outwards [. . .] Their elevation and section at fig 2 p 47 l [. . .] section fig 3 and capital at fig 4 it has a perfectly simple round headed Lombard leaf a each angle The white block on the left of fig 1 is a rough mass put up behind its inner shaft - ver dextrously out of sight from below, to give it strength.’
