Lynne Allan
Lynne grew up in the South but is married to a Manchester Man and has produced four Mancunians. Lynne has taught in her adopted city for over twenty- five years and feels privileged to have been able to be paid for what is essentially a passion and hobby. An avid bibliophile, Lynne is Chair of the Book Committee at The Portico Library on Charlotte Street; an independent Library established in 1805 which has a prize which celebrates Northern writing.

Muli Amaye
Muli attended Manchester Metropolitan University in 1998 to study English and discovered a love of writing that complimented her lifelong love of reading. An MA in Creative Writing followed and she is currently undertaking her PhD at Lancaster University. Her writing and academic interests are centered round migration, memory and notions of home.

Sean Duffy
Sean grew up in the delightful Salford suburb of Little Hulton, and worked painfully unimportant jobs until deciding to return to education at 22. He is now ready to begin a degree course at Manchester Metropolitan University studying English and Film, which he would be first to agree are his main interests apart from music.

Nazia Kauser
Nazia, currently a student at The Manchester College intends to inspire children by going on to study Primary Education at Leeds Metropolitan University. Reading fantasy and stories of mythical creatures is one of her favourite past-times. Nazia is looking forward to moving to the bustling city of Leeds having grown up in the town of Oldham.

Selina Macmillean
Selina grew up in various homes. From three months old she was placed in care looked after by the local authority. Having grown up in Manchester she has had the opportunity to take part in many creative fields such as Dramatic Arts and contemporary dance. Selina has many hopes and aspirations for the future fullfilling her life with success and contentment.

Hannah Middleton
Hannah grew up in the lovely town of Bolton, but has recently been drawn to the bright lights of Manchester and is currently residing in Rusholme. Having been out of education since sixteen, Hannah will be starting a degree in English and History at Manchester Metropolitan University and continuing to work part time at The Octagon Theatre Bolton.

Graham Mort
Graham was born in Middleton, Manchester, and is now a lecturer at Lancaster University in Creative Writing. He has published seven full-length collections of poetry and won a number of literary prizes, including a major Eric Gregory award for his first collection, A Country on Fire (Littlewood Press). His latest collection of poems is Visibility: New & Selected Poems (Seren). He also writes BBC radio drama and short fiction, winning the Bridport Prize for short fiction in 2007.
