Task F - Our answer

The interesting thing about negation is that it conjures in the reader's mind the positive of whatever is negated in order to negate it. Hence 'not an emotion' conjures up the possibility of an emotion while denying it. Note that effectively this tells us more about the attitude of the candidate. She expects people (women?) to have emotions, feelings, dizzy thoughts, but does not find these non-logical qualities in the Principal. So we feel the 'to and fro' between the candidate's expectations and how they are denied. There are seven instances of negation in the passage, and also some other features which have related effects (cf. 'whether' in S 8 and S 9, and 'might' in S 36).
