Sedbergh and the River Rawthey

The River Rawthey comes down from the top right-hand corner and turns west. Just to the east of Sedbergh it is joined by the Clough out of Garsdale, and just above Brigflatts by the Dee out of Dentdale. It finally joins the Lune about 1km east of Killington.

Fox’s ministry in the North West began in this area. At Whitsun he preached in Sedbergh, and Firbank Fell, the place of the great meeting and ‘Fox’s Pulpit’ (yellow marker), is just to the north.
