Dentdale

Fox and First Publishers of Truth record a meeting in Stone House in Dent. This has led David and Anthea Boulton to suggest that he came across from Far Gearstones neary Ribblehead (blue route). This would be a logical route whether he came from James Tennant’s at the far end of Langstrothdale or by the Cam High Road from Askrigg/Bainbridge. They suggest that he went no further down the dale than Cowgill, from whence he went into Garsdale to Major Bousfield’s; either across to Garsdale Head (blue route) or more directly over Rise Hill to Garsdale village (brown route).
