High Newton in Cartmel

Distant image: the only viewpoint so far to show the village unobscured by the bypass (in front); convenient and necessary, so that the inhabitants no longer have their gables removed by passing lorries, but which makes it difficult to photograph the village itself. This view from the west near Field Broughton. It shows how high High Newton is.
