A key feature of the Cinema Culture in 1930s Britain collection is the interviews that were conducted during the mid-1990s in four UK locations, Glasgow, East Anglia, the London suburb of Harrow, and Greater Manchester (including a significant number from the large town of Bolton): these locations were carefully chosen to give a spread of settlement patterns and class and regional cultures. (see the CCINTB Research Design page for further details).
We have created a number of ‘location home pages’ to draw together background information about each location, together with links to home pages of participants who lived in the area and contextualised links and publications.
