Centre for Crime, Law and Justice Launch EventDate: 30 June - 1st July 2014 Time: 9.00 am - 4.15pm, 8.45am - 1pm. Venue: Lancaster House Hotel The principal aim of the Centre is to bring together overlapping research interests in the areas of criminology, criminal justice and criminal law, and to engage both nationally and internationally in research connections and collaborations. The theme of the event is 'Victims' and will includepresentations from Richard Monkhouse (Chairman of the Magistrates' Association), Professor Sandra Walklate (University of Liverpool) and Peter Grieves-Smith (Barrister and Principal Crown Advocate, CPS).There will also bePanel presentations on current research on Hate Crime; Cybercrime; Problem-Solving Courts; Organised Crime; and Victims of Sexual Offences, which are being Chaired by leading scholars and practitioners in these areas. In addition, representatives from police, probation, PCCsas well as NGOs including the Centre for Justice Innovation and the New Economics Foundation (Nef) are participating. There will be a wine reception and dinner on the evening of the 30th June. The event is free to attend, however places are limited.
