Careers presentation by Capita Translation and InterpretingDate: 28 May 2014 Time: 1.00 pm Venue: Marcus Merriman Lecture Theatre Career opportunities available with a language based degree: It is a common misconception that those with a language degree can only really go on to translate or to teach... We would like to dispel that myth, and talk about the various opportunities available in a company such as our own. "Are you looking for a life in the translation industry but don't know where to start? The translation industry (often referred to as the Localization industry) is a $13 billion sector that is growing exponentially due to the explosion of mobile devices and the growth of the internet in the developing world. Traditional translation is only a small part of what takes place in the industry, and we have three Alumni coming in to outline some of the non-translator roles available to students, with a particular focus on Project Manager, Vendor and Account Management roles." Join them in Bowland North, MARCUS MERRIMAN LECTURE THEATRE on Wednesday, 28th May at 1pm with an opportunity to ask any questions about the roles or the Industry.
