Family ofmeasures assess children’s prosocial skill, including communication, cooperation, assertiveness, responsibility, empathy, engagement, andself-control. In addition, the measure captures the degree to which childrendemonstrate problem behaviors, including both externalizing and internalizingbehaviors. Finally, the SSIS captures children’s academic competence inreading, mathematics, and motivation to learn. Appropriate for children ages 3to 18 years, complementary forms are available for parents as well as teachers. Moreover, after the early childhood years, a complementary version allowschildren to provide self-report information as well. In all, 10-25 mins areneeded to complete the measure. Although not a screener, cut-off scores areavailable to identify children with high levels of problem behaviors. Extensivedata support the inter-rater and internal reliability of the measures, as wellas concurrent validity with other measures (Gresham & Elliot, 2008). Guidesfor coordinated individual and class-wide intervention are available.
