Kinesthesis

A general term used to describe sensations associated with movement arising from receptors in the muscles, tendons, joints and skin.  Used interchangeably with proprioception.  While it is more or less synonymous with proprioception, James J. Gibson included the visual modality (i.e., the act of seeing) under proprioception.
