Teleophase

Discounting interphase in meiosis, the fourth phase of cell division. In the first telophase of meiosis (following prophase, metaphase and anaphase), whole chromosomes from the pairs that separated at the first anaphase form the daughter cells.  The number of chromosomes is thus half the number in the original one. In the second telophase of the second division of meiosis, daughter cells are formed from chromatids, as is also the case with mitochondria.  As for mitosis, the chromatids that separated from each other at anaphase collect at poles of the spindles.
