Personality

Like intelligence, it is difficult to define and has a very broad usage.  For example, in 1927, Gordon W, Allport (1897-1967) produced almost 50 definitions of the term.  It can be considered as patterns of behavior within an individual that are consistent time and situations, including both temperament and characteristics that are acquired as part of development.  An important theoretical issue is how personality relates to earlier measures of infant temperament.
