Doctoral Supervision
Our research students usually work with two supervisors, often with one as the lead supervisor. Colleagues working primarily within Literary Studies sometimes co-supervise in Creative Writing and vice-versa. In addition, some colleagues supervise study that fuses the two disciplines. Finally, just occasionally a co-supervisor is brought in from another discipline.

If thinking of applying, we would warmly encourage you to contact the Department’s Director of Doctoral Research; up until August 15, 2024 this is Professor Simon Bainbridge, thereafter it is Professor Arthur Bradley. You may also, if you wish, contact a potential supervisor or co-supervisor.*
