Working alongside the Knowledge Exchange Framework is the Knowledge Exchange Concordat. We are a signatory to the concordat. The aim of the concordat is to give universities and their staff and students clarity of mission and:
- to support the development of staff and students;
- give partners an accurate representation of the approach that is being taken to KE;
- provide clear indicators of the approach being taking to performance improvement;
- give our Council and the government broad confidence in the activity that is taking place;
- to stress how collaboration between universities and partners in various aspects of KE can be beneficial to all participants.
The concordat is made up of eight guiding principles that aim to cover the underpinning activities needed for effective knowledge exchange:
- Mission
- Policies and processes
- Engagement
- Working transparently and ethically
- Capacity building
- Recognition and rewards
- Continuous improvement
- Evaluating success
In short, the Knowledge Exchange Framework shows what we do, and the Knowledge Exchange Concordat evidences how we do it.
