Research Overview

I research energy issues through the lens of cultural politics. My focus is on how industries shape material-cultural lives and what implications this has for the politics of green transitions.

I apply a similar analytical lens to democratic innovations including climate mini-publics.

Outside of my research, I sit on the Westminster Energy Transition Commission, and was until recently a city councillor with responsibilities for climate action.

My research sits within the Climate Citizens project at Lancaster Environment Centre. More information about the project is available here: https://climatecitizens.org.uk/
